In 1998, long before the term "managed computer service" became a computer networking industry buzzword, our company
identified that if we only had customer contact when we were needed for computer service issues,
we'd mainly be talking to unhappy customers. Furthermore, if each time a computer or server
needed service and the repair provider got to bill by the hour, where was the incentive
to proactively make that customer's network trouble-free? There had to be a better way. We set
out to align our customer’s goals with our own. Our customers wanted trouble-free
networks and affordable proactive computer sservice, not just repairing computers after they broke. We wanted happy customers. And so, we began to
develop our program. Our first four South Florida customers in what became known as 'managed computer services' were on-board by 1999...the rest is
computer services history.
